Streets of San Francisco • Bennett Hall This collection of hand-tinted images and black and white photographs were shot on the streets of San Francisco from 1972-1980, by Bennett Hall. Hall photographed people in San Francisco through July 1997 when he was hit and dragged from the sidewalk at Powell and Market by SFPD while taking photographs of the Critical Mass bicycle ride. The film (4 frames) shot by Hall at the exact time of the assault were destroyed after processing while the film was being held by the City. After that event, Bennett Hall stopped shooting street photography in San Francisco. |
